Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene followed Jesus from Galilee to the cross, and she was the first to see him risen. For centuries the church wrongly painted her as a sinner. The hidden gospels tell a different story.

In the Gospel of Mary and the Gospel of Philip she is the companion Jesus loved, the disciple who understood his teachings most deeply, and the one who comforted and taught the others when they were afraid.

In Their Words

“Beware that no one leads you astray, saying, Look here, or Look there. For the child of humanity is within you. Follow it. Those who seek it will find it.”

The Savior to the disciples, as Mary preserved it, Gospel of Mary (translation by Dan Dillman)

What This Sage Teaches Us

Mary teaches that the Christ light is found within, not in outer authorities. She shows the power of the divine feminine: intuition, devotion, courage and love that does not run away. She stood firm at the cross when others fled.

Reflect: Where do you need the courage to trust your own inner knowing?
