Krishna is honored in India as an incarnation of the Divine. His most famous teaching is the Bhagavad Gita, the Song of the Lord, spoken on a battlefield to the warrior Arjuna, who had lost his courage on the eve of war.
In seven hundred verses Krishna reveals the nature of the soul, the paths of yoga, and the secret of acting in the world without being bound by it.
In Their Words
“The soul is never born, and it never dies. It did not come into being, and it will never cease to be. Unborn, eternal, ancient, it is not slain when the body is slain.”
Bhagavad Gita 2:20 (translation by Dan Dillman)
“You have a right to your work, but never to its fruits.”
Bhagavad Gita 2:47 (translation by Dan Dillman)
What This Sage Teaches Us
Krishna teaches that you are not the body and not the fear. You are the eternal Self. Do your sacred duty with all your heart, offer the results to the Great Spirit, and you will know a peace no battle can touch.
Reflect: What would you do today if you were free from worry over the outcome?
